Security & data controls

Good connections start with trust.

Clear controls for the people who create links and for the people who scan them.

Destination safeguards

Every destination is validated and checked for phishing and malware, with a public way to report abuse.

Cookieless scan analytics

Scan analytics uses no tracking cookies and stores hashed identifiers instead of raw IP addresses.

Account protection

Two-factor authentication, recovery codes, role-based workspaces and access checks protect your account.

Safer uploads & pages

Uploads go through a validation pipeline. Public pages never accept arbitrary HTML or JavaScript from users.

Your data controls

Export your account data and manage privacy settings from your workspace.

Honest availability

A code can be paused, expired, password protected or disabled for abuse. Everything else keeps redirecting.

From idea to connection

Make it useful. Keep it current.

  1. 1 Use a destination you trust.
  2. 2 Turn on two-factor authentication.
  3. 3 Review team roles and API keys.
  4. 4 Keep important destinations current.

Quick answer

QRflick validates destinations, protects accounts with access controls and two-factor authentication, and keeps scan analytics cookieless. These controls make link management safer, but a QR image is never proof that a destination is trustworthy: check the link with the same care as any unfamiliar website.

Check the destination before sensitive actions

Most phone cameras show a link before opening it. Check that the address matches the business you expect. Be careful with unexpected messages that ask you to scan right away, sign in or confirm payment details.

For printed placements you own, check the code from time to time. A sticker placed on top can point somewhere else while using the same location and call to action.

Separate account protection from link protection

Two-factor authentication and team roles protect the account that controls your destinations. A password on a public link protects something else: access to that one destination. Neither replaces looking after the account and the domain.

Review who can publish changes, which API keys are active and whether former staff still have access. Good ownership matters when printed links stay in use for years.

Keep data claims specific

Scan analytics uses no tracking cookies and hashes identifiers instead of storing raw IP addresses. Reports come with clear definitions: recognized bots are excluded and unique visitors are counted per day.

The privacy policy explains what is stored, for how long and why, and you can download all your data or delete your account at any time.

Questions, answered

Does a branded QR guarantee a safe destination?

No. A logo or a familiar location is not proof of safety. Check the address and treat unusual requests with care.

Does the free generator check every website for malware?

No. It draws a static image from what you type and stores nothing. Destination checks apply to the dynamic links you create in an account.

Can I report a suspicious code?

Yes. Anyone can report a link from the report page, and our team reviews every report.
