Some QRflick plans include things described as unlimited, or limits so high that most people never reach them. That works because almost everyone uses QRflick the way it's meant to be used: a business creating codes, cards and signatures for its own customers. This policy explains, in plain words, where the line is, so a few extreme cases don't make the service slower or more expensive for everyone else.

What “unlimited” means

"Unlimited" means we don't set a fixed number for that item on your plan. It doesn't mean infinite use of our servers, storage, email or paid third-party services, and it isn't a licence to resell QRflick. Everything below applies to unlimited items and to items with a stated limit.

Where your plan shows a number (for example dynamic QR codes, cards, team members or API requests per minute), that number is the limit. It's shown on the pricing page and in Settings → Plan & billing.

Normal use: what's always fine

  • Creating codes, cards, profiles and signatures for your own business, your employer, or clients you manage as an agency (one account per business you work for is not required, but see "Reselling" below).
  • Printing your codes on as many flyers, menus, products or signs as you like.
  • Normal scan traffic, including seasonal peaks, a campaign that goes viral, or a code printed on packaging.
  • Editing destinations as often as you need.

Fair use guidelines

These figures are what we consider normal for one account. They're not hard caps and nothing stops automatically when you reach them. They tell you when we may get in touch.

Resource Normal use per account
Scans of your dynamic codes Up to 1,000,000 a month on paid plans, 10,000 a month on the free plan
Uploads (logos, photos, PDFs, galleries) Up to 5 GB in total; files only for your codes, cards and pages
Email signatures, static codes and other unlimited items What a business reasonably needs for its own staff and customers
Card scanner (AI) The daily allowance shown in the scanner
API and webhooks The rate shown for your plan; no scraping or bulk export of other people's data
Emails QRflick sends for you (lead alerts, reports) Notifications about your own account only, never bulk mailing

What isn't fair use

  • Reselling or sharing QRflick as your own service, or letting other businesses use your account to avoid buying their own plan, unless we've agreed it in writing.
  • Using QRflick as a file host or CDN: storing files that aren't used by your codes, cards or pages, or linking to uploads from elsewhere in bulk.
  • Automated or artificial traffic: bots scanning codes, load testing, or creating and deleting items in bulk to get around plan limits.
  • Many accounts or trials for one person or business to get more than one plan allows, or to repeat free trials.
  • Anything that puts a disproportionate load or cost on the service, or that our Acceptable use policy forbids.

What we do if use goes far beyond normal

We'll be reasonable and talk to you first:

  1. We contact you by email with what we've seen and ask about it. Most cases are a mistake, a misconfigured integration or a growing business, and we help you sort it out.
  2. If it continues, we may suggest a plan that fits (for example Enterprise), or agree custom limits with you. We never charge you anything without your agreement.
  3. Only if that doesn't work, or if there's an urgent risk to the service or to other customers, we may slow down or temporarily limit the specific feature, code or API key causing the problem, and tell you right away.

Your printed codes are protected. Reaching a fair use guideline never deletes your codes, and we won't switch off a dynamic code over volume alone without telling you first and giving you a reasonable chance to fix things or move plans. Abuse that puts people at risk (phishing, malware) is different: it's handled under our Acceptable use policy and can be stopped immediately.

Changes to this policy

If we change these guidelines we'll update this page and, for material changes, email you in advance and ask you to accept the new version, as described in our Terms of service.
